What happens if you are forced to “Shelter-In-Place” in your home due to a *Chemical Spill* *Extreme Weather* or even because of *Social Unrest* ? What are you doing to eat? Do you have a little extra food in your pantry? Do you have the ingredients and know how to turn that plain can of beans into a bowl of comforting Chili?

This Pantry Meals series during the year 2016 will show you how to turn your everyday non refrigerated pantry items into a Healthy and Satisfying Meal during times of crisis. Don’t forget that The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan gave an instruction to store some food in our homes, and a warning that a Major Earthquake is forthcoming. So with this new year, lets develop a new positive routine of stocking our homes with a little extra food and learning some preparedness skills.

Disaster Preparedness is easy if you are consistent and do a little something each and every week. So read through this week’s recipe, and if it is something that you would like to make during a time of ‘sheltering in’, check your pantry to make sure you have all of the needed ingredients. If you are missing an ingredient, pick it up NOW, before you actually need it.
